March is Save Your Vision Month - Bella Eye Care Optometry

March is National Save Your Vision Month and we want to educate and inform you about the importance of getting a yearly eye exam and protecting your vision.

Just as most of us take care of our bodies by eating healthy and exercising regularly,  we should also care for our eye health too. Having clear vision does not necessarily mean healthy vision. Getting a yearly eye exam can prevent and detect serious eye issues such as cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. As we get older it is recommended that we get a yearly eye exam to make sure our prescription hasn’t changed and to be able to detect any eye issues early on.

Aside from detecting eye diseases, a regular eye exam can also help detect systemic diseases such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes. The eye doctors at Bella Eye Care Optometry can detect those conditions by looking at the blood vessels in your eye to make sure they don’t appear abnormal. Lastly, since we live in a digital world nowadays, it’s important to also protect your vision from the digital screens and eye strain. We may not notice the effect of digital eye strain, but with time, the symptoms will begin to show in your eyesight.

Schedule your annual appointment today with one of our wonderful optometrists.
